Music
Ministry
North Como’s faith community gathers for worship and celebration each week, utilizing the gifts that we each bring to create a service that is full of joy! All are welcome — in fact, encouraged — to find ways to contribute to our musical experience. From our 35-voice Sanctuary Choir, to our 20-piece church orchestra (whose membership includes teenagers to retired folks, and all ability levels)
and our active bell ministry; you are warmly invited to learn more about these opportunities and to participate fully as everything that has breath gives praise to God!
Vocal Choirs
Sanctuary Choir meets on Wednesdays from 7:30-9:00pm in the Choir Room. This adult SATB choir meets weekly to rehearse for Sunday worship services and special programs during the year. Our anthems range from traditional to contemporary, and all are welcome to join us. We have a folder just for you!
Instrumental Groups
The
Prime Chimers Handbell Choir meets Mondays at 6:30pm in the
Handbell Room. Our bell team plays a variety of music during the worship service, as well as with other music groups. We also enjoy taking our bells out into the community to share our unique music medium and our talents with our neighbors. Ages high school and up are welcome! No experience necessary; we'll teach you how to ring!
Commosso
Orchestra meets on Wednesdays from
6:45-7:30pm in the Sanctuary. This is a group of musicians who, regardless of how often they play their instruments or how recently it’s been since they studied music, commit to playing for a service twice each month. This instrumental ensemble is open to people who have had at least 2 years of training on their instrument. Join us!
Children’s Music Ministry
Our children participate in a variety of musical events throughout the year, including the annual Children’s Christmas Pageant, the all-church Talent Show, the summer theater production, and the Easter choir. Rehearsals are held, as needed, during (or immediately following) Sunday School.
Music Ministry Calendar
Each ensemble leads worship
on a regular basis. To keep track of these schedules, our
calendar is available online
and is updated regularly.
