Children & Families

The Children and Family Ministries program at North Como is one dedicated to encouraging questions of faith and nurturing them in all of our members, even the littlest! Through education, fellowship, and worship, the Children and Family Ministries program provides opportunities for children and their parents to interact and grow in faith together.

                                                 Summer Camp: Start Planning!

With piles of snow covering everything, it’s hard to imagine sunny days full of swimming, canoeing, and outdoor games. But summer will be here before you know it, and with it: SUMMER CAMP! Yes, it’s time to start planning for camp. So, here are some options to start you thinking:

CLEARWATER FOREST

With Family Camp and Grandparents Week, Clearwater has some great family-oriented options, and they are the Presbyterian USA sponsored camp. The location offers more than 1,000 acres of forest and 3.5 miles of lakeshore for rest, relaxation, and renewal for both children and adults. Specialty camps include: art camps, kayak camps, sports, and high ropes courses. There are options for children 3rd grade through adult, with many intergenerational options. www.clearwaterforest.org

CAMP VICTORY

Located in Zumbro Falls, MN, Camp Victory offers a variety of camps for children age 5 all the way through high school seniors. Located on 200 acres by the Zumbro River, Camp Victory
offers a variety of options from very rustic to air-conditioned cabins. Day camps, classic overnight camps, and leadership in training retreats offer a variety of options to choose from. www.campvictory.com

CHURCH OF THE WAY

During the week of July 12-16, Presbyterian Church of the Way is offering a Clearwater Forest Camp-in-a-Van summer program for children Kindergarten through 6th grade. If summer camp is not an option during these tough economic times, this option gives you a day camp experience (9am – 3pm) for a $25 registration fee. Registration starts the first week of March.
